Our Mission
It is our desire to unify our small towns in the Allegheny-Clarion River Valley by organizing our artistic endeavors and the many talents our residents possess. We encourage both young and old alike to share their skills and abilities. We promote creativity, critical thinking and education to better enhance the communities. Monthly workshops, open studio time and our many events are open to the public. Our core members share responsibilities and duties to establish a sense of community with a common goal: to unify.
Our Vision
The vision of the Chicken Coop - Studio 306 is to add to the already established uniqueness of the Allegheny-Clarion River Valley. The Chicken Coop would shake out the talents found in the hillsides along the rivers and encourage them to grow. The workshops would reach out to the locals as well as the tourists to join together in artistic or educational endeavors. It would invite people using the river and bike trails as recreation to stop in our towns to create awhile and stay awhile, strengthening the valley’s economy. It would allow young growing minds from our local schools to have yet another outlet for creative and critical thinking with others. Ultimately the Chicken Coop wants to cultivate the talents already residing in our small towns and invite those who are willing to enlighten our community’s growing mind set.
GEMS (Girls Excelling in Math and Science)
Chicken Coop - Studio 306 also intends to enhance the valley through educational programs. Sara Black, a Chicken Coop Core Member, is a GEMS facilitator and will be bringing a chapter of this wonderful program to our valley.
